JP Ehwa - A Stonemason in New England

A prophet in his homeland is often overlooked. A stonemason in New England can have the same fate befall him.

Because New England is blessed with some of the most beautiful deposits of stone, we also have many talented masons that work with stone. This talent is at our disposal and occasionally overlooked.

As I was looking through my Design Center, I came across the gallery for JP Ehwa. JP is a local stonemason who builds some magnificent fireplaces. Each of his fireplaces is a work of art. The lucky customers that are smart enough to commission him for their project are never disappointed. It is always a labor of love with JP.

The part that I have overlooked is the fact that JP has been sending me these pictures for the last two years, and this is the first time that I am writing about him.

JP will often stop by my office to discuss an upcoming project. When he does I try to have something different for him to inspect. The last time he came by I had a piece of New England Fieldstone cut in half and polished on the smooth side. I asked him what he thought and he told me that it is pieces like this that keep him in the stone business. He truly loves his work, and loves working to bring out the beauty of stone.

These pictures of his work need no further explanation. Words would fail in trying to add to the beauty of these masterpieces.

April was speaking with a customer yesterday. She told April that she has already spent over 24 hours looking through our website to gather ideas for her project. With pictures like JP’s in our Design Center, you can see why it is hard to turn away.

If you have some time tonight go to my Design Center and look at the different contractors’ galleries. If you appreciate stone, this will be fun and rewarding.

Let me know if you have spent more than 24 hours on my website. I’ll bet there are a few Stoneyard.com groupies that can beat this record.

If you think you have pictures that are as good or better, send them to me. I promise I won’t wait 2 years to write about you in my blog.

JP can be reached at EHWA STONE MASONRY PO BOX 185 AYER, MA 978-772-9870. You can also find him listed in my Buyer’s Guide.

Temperatures are rising and so is the interest in our stone. In the last 30 days there have been over 5,000 searches in my Buyer's Guide. If you're not in the guide, contact us right away. This is a proven way to talk to people looking for stone professionals.

Do it NOW!
