I’m right in the middle of my busy season at Stoneyard.com. Inquiries for my New England natural stone are coming in from across the country. My sales representatives are doing a great job answering the inquiries and getting quotes out to prospects, but too often I hear that they love my stone, but the shipping cost is too high. If I could bring down the shipping cost they would gladly buy the stone.


This is one of the reasons that I developed my Dealer Program. If you are a dealer of my New England natural stone, you will buy in truckload quantities. Buying in truckload quantities reduces the shipping rate per ton by 3-4 times. A ton of stone shipped individually to Florida will cost around $500. A truckload of stone (22 ton) shipped to Florida will cost around $2,500. This reduces the shipping cost per ton to $114/ton, or a savings of over $380/ton.

Can you see where the savings of $380/ton leaves room for a dealer to make a profit while still allowing the stone to be sold at an affordable price?

New England Fieldstone Mosaic Veneer

Tim Braier of Manchester-by-the Sea just finished this chimney and foundation veneer work on a house in Essex, Ma. He used my New England Fieldstone Mosaic Veneer. I have referred to this as the "Broken Ice" Veneer. As you can see from the picture the pieces are irregular in shape, which creates its own unique look. No other chimney and foundation in the world will look like this one. Tim created a one of a kind work of art.
